Mangaluru: Boat builder, engineer M K Harishchandra no more

Mangaluru: Well-known boat builder and engineer M K Harishchandra breathed his last at a private hospital in the city on September 1. He was 85.

Harishchandra had founded the Marine Crafts and Equipment Company at Bunder here in the year 1973. He was conferred with the ‘Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini’ national award in the year 1995 in recognition of his service in the field of industry.

Harishchandra had served as an advisor for NMPT port trust and the fisheries department.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter.
