Bengaluru: Condemning the assault on actress Samyukta Hegde and her friends at a park while they were exercising, BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje on Saturday said that her offenders must be booked.

“What has happened with @SamyukthaHegde is really unfortunate, there is no place for such moral policing in our socity!

Kavitha Reddy, who assaulted & hurled abuses against the actress and her friends must be booked & punished! @INCIndia leaders cannot take law into their hands!,” tweeted Shobha on the incident.

Earlier Samyukta Hegde had shared a video of the incident on her social media handles. She tagged Bengaluru city police commissioner seeking stringent action against the culprits.

In the video, a woman, named as Kavita Reddy is heard objecting to Samyukta’s attire and even attempted to assault her.
