Will return to my earlier profession after retirement: Udupi DC on Teachers’ Day

Udupi: Speaking at an official event organised by the District’s Public Education Department and the Zilla panchayat here on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the Deputy Commissioner of the district G Jagadeesha stated that after his retirement from public service he will return to teaching, his profession before becoming an IAS officer.
He said that a teacher is foremost a learner. A good teacher always keeps himself/herself updated, as a result, will always be understood and liked most by their students.
MLA Raghupati Bhat, also in attendance at the event, stated that teaching is the most respected profession. During the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers worked extra hard as ‘COVID Warriors.’ No one is better equipped and trustworthy than teachers to erase the mistaken perception of the novel coronavirus in the people.
In the event, awards were also presented to a few teachers for their outstanding work along with some retired teachers.
Dinakar Babu, president of Udupi Zilla panchayat; Sandhya Kamath, president of the taluk panchayat, Prathap Hegde Marali, president of the Education and Health standing committee and others were present during the event.
