Bantwal: Illegal redstone mining carried out at historical place

Bantwal: Locals complain of Illegal red stone mining at Kotethadka hill area which comes under Alike and Peruvai gram panchayat.

It is said that Locals have  written letters to the Prime Minister, chief minister and mining and geology departments, But no action has been taken so far.

Locals claim that the place where this activity is going on is a historical place known as Panadavara Kote.

The illegal mining activity is said to be going on for the past four years at a location which is 2 km from Kuddupadavu on the road that connects Kasargod from Kalladka.

In addition to red stones, now the mud is also extracted and sent to Andhra Pradesh. Locals claim that if no action is taken by the authorities then they will hold fierce protests in coming days
