Vijayapura: Lightning strike kills 15 sheeps

Vijayapur: An incident where lightning struck a tree and killed 15 sheep who had taken shelter under it occurred at Handiganur village at Sindagi taluk in the district on Tuesday, September 8.
Shepherd Madiwalappa Eerappa from the village had taken his sheep out for grazing. Suddenly rains began to pour along with thunderstorms and lightning.
Eerappa and his son made the sheep stand under the tree and both took shelter elsewhere. Lightning struck the tree and killed all the sheep instantly.
Eerappa has suffered a loss of Rs 2 lakhs due to the deaths of his sheep.
