Along with Sandalwood Mollywood too might have drugs menace

Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police had earlier expressed that there seems to be no relationship between the drugs network in Bollywood’s with that of Sandalwood. However, the arrest of a Kerala-based actor Niaz Mohammed has raised questions whether the drug network here could have involvement in Mollywood.
In the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that Niaz Mohammed, who has acted in Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada movies, was introduced to drugs in a party at Bengaluru. He had invited Sanjjana Galrani to a party he had organized in Kerala. After which the two had become friends. Many prominent actors, actresses and Page 3 stars of Kerala would come at Niaz’s parties.
Sanjjana was also the chief guest at the many of the parties hosted by Niaz at high-end hotels. In July, Niaz started making facemasks in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sanjjana had promoted the masks made by Niaz. Niaz also organised parties in the city.
Sanjjana had called Niaz and Rahul Tonshi as her ‘rakhi brothers.’ Photos with both of them have gone viral on social media.
Niaz was also involved in fashion photography and was the judge in many fashion shows. He would come to the city for such shows and parties and would procure drugs during these visits.
Presently, Sanjjana and Ragini Dwivedi are both housed in the same single room with five beds at the Mahila Santwana Centre. Three women police personnel have been deployed outside their room.
Ragini has once again refused to answer to CCB’s queries citing allergy and back pain not permitting her to talk easily for a long time.
