Chikmagalur: Huge cracks have developed on a road over the dyke at the Hiremagalur lake, threatening the dyke itself.
The crack has caused fear among motorists with only a few two-wheelers braving to tread the dangerous road.
Hundreds of local farmers are in panic because if the dyke breaks they risk losing their crops.
