Bengaluru: After rumors were rife that Chamrajpet Congress MLA BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan and Sanjjanaa Galrani had participated in gambling at a casino in Sri Lanka, the former has now claimed that he had gone to the casino but not with the actress.
Galrani happens to be accused number 14 in the Sandalwood drug case which is being investigated by the Central Crime Branch (CCB).
The name of former minister and Chamrajpet Congress MLA BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan came to the fore for his alleged links with the actor Sanjjanaa Galrani and sources said that the Galrani was part of Khan’s entourage to the island nation of Sri Lanka in June, a fact that the lawmaker denied. Both were said to have taken part in gambling at a casino there.
“Going to a casino is not wrong. All the politicians take part in gambling at a casino. When I was in JDS, former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy accompanied me to Casino in Sri Lanka,” claimed Khan.
“When I was in JDS HD Kumarswamy and 26 other party leaders had gone to Casino. However, it is not illegal. All the politicians go to Casino and I also know how many BJP leaders have been there,” said Khan.
“I have never gone to a Casino with Sanjjanaa and I have never taken drugs, If anyone proves that I was involved in the drug mafia they can hang me,” Zameer said.
