Bengaluru: The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has now granted permission to private unaided schools to collect the first term installment of annual fees from parents so that they can pay salary to the teachers.
As per the circular, issued by the DPI, the first-term fee installment collected from parents shall be utilised for salary payments of teachers and non-teaching faculty. All schools must complete the admission process by September 30.
“All school management must ensure that the department doesn’t get any complaints in this matter,” the circular added.
The department has also asked its officials to ensure that all students will get admitted to schools and no one quits studies due to child marriage, child labour and other such reasons. Many private unaided schools teachers were not paid salary due to the COVID-19 crisis and as a result many school teachers were forced to shift to various minor works. However now though schools launched online classes, only a handful are paid salaries.
