Bengaluru: Minister for Housing V Somanna is solely responsible for throwing to ditches housing projects in the State. He has brought tears in the eyes of poor beneficiaries. Only after the Department of Housing is rid of Somanna will the department work properly. He should resign immediately, said KPCC Working President Ishwar Khandre.
Speaking at a news conference at the KPCC office here, Khandre said that Minister V Somanna had declared that if he does not build houses for the people of the State then he will hang himself. He is now blaming Panchayat Development Officers for failures and making emotional excuses. All that he says are lies.
Already homes for 15 lakh beneficiaries have been built, 7 lakhs 65 thousand houses are under construction but no money have been released for them while 2.5 lakh houses have been cancelled. The poor are being punched in the stomach by such actions, he added.
From two and a half years, most houses are only half constructed. Poor beneficiaries are suffering sitting in their huts waiting for their houses to be handed over to them. The Minister of Housing has no mercy on them and only delivers emotional responses, Khandre said.
There are corruption allegations against officer Mahadev Prasad. He has now been appointed to Rajiv Housing Corporation. The construction of houses is being hampered by such officials, he alleged.
CT Ravi has no right to talk about morality. He was going to start a casino in the State for tourism development. He wishes to promote such immodest culture in the State. He has no right to say anything about Zameer and casino, Khandre said.
