Maddur: Minister for Primary and Secondary education Sures Kumar in a recent Facebook post mentioned about a particular tea stall in Gejjalagere taluk which had been named after Sudha Murthy.
In the post, Kumar said that he was traveling to Mysuru from Bengaluru when he happened to pass by the stall on the roadside. What caught his attention was that the stall was named after Infosys Foundation Chairperson Sudha Murty.
Kumar further said that he stopped to have a chat with the owner of the ‘SudhaMurty Amma’ tea stall owner and was pleasantly surprised to know that the former, Sunil Kumar had never met Sudha Murty but yet chose to name the stall after her.
Sudha Murty to visit the stall:
The Facebook post was widely shared and also came to the notice of the Infosys Foundation Chairperson who later called and spoke to Sunil Kumar.
Responding to SudhMurty’s question on why the stall was named after her, Sunil said that he was inspired by her social work initiatives such as building houses for flood victims, contributing to CM Relief Fund etc.
Meanwhile, Murty promised to visit the stall after the Covid-19 crisis came under control. People have appreciated her gesture on social media
