Facebook will update its internal discussion policies to impose restrictions on employees’ ability to debate social and political issues.
The rules would apply to employee discussions of how executives handle politically sensitive content on Facebook’s platforms.
Spokesman Joe Osborne said in a statement, “What we’ve heard from our employees is that they want the option to join debates on social and political issues rather than see them unexpectedly in their work feed. We’re updating our employee policies and work tools to ensure our culture remains respectful and inclusive.”
According to Reuters, Facebook is strengthening its harassment policy so that employees from under-represented communities don’t face hostile work environments
Also, With the new guidelines in place, Facebook is looking at drawing a boundary between employees’ political and social leanings getting in the way of work.
