Who is Payal Ghosh, the actress who has accused Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment?

Model-turned-actress,Payal Ghosh has accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexually harassing her.

She took to her Twitter account to open up against Kashyap and tagged the office of the Prime Minister of India in her tweet. “@anuragkashyap72 has forced himself on me and extremely badly. @PMOIndia @narendramodi ji, kindly take action and let the country see the demon behind this creative guy. I am aware that it can harm me and my security is at risk. Pls help!,”

She claimed that the director forced himself upon her when she was seeking a film job in 2014. While Kashyap has denied the allegations and labelled it as ‘baseless’, Ghosh has hit back to claim that those doubting her intentions are wrong.

Payal Ghosh was born on  November 13, 1989, in Kolkata and pursued Political Science Honours from the Scottish Church College, Kolkata.

Before her Bollywood debut, she acted in several South Indian films including Telugu and Kannada films Prayanam, Varshadhaare and Mr Rascal’.

Payal was also a part of the popular daily soap Saath Nibhana Saathiya in the year 2016. In 2017, she made her debut in the Hindi movie named‘Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi’, also starring comedian Vir Das.

Talking to India tv regarding her MeToo allegations, Payal said, “ I tried to say it before also, when the #MeToo movement had started, but my family and friends stopped me. ‘You can’t talk, your career will be spoiled,’ they told me. I posted about this also, tagging Anurag, but deleted it.

On the other hand,   Kashyap has denied all the allegations made against him.
