Manipal: 8-storey building in fear of collapse; officials rush to spot

Manipal: Heavy rains here from the past two days has caused the collapse of the retaining wall of an eight-storey building here threatening the entire structure in danger.
Officials rushed to the spot and evacuated the building’s residents and closed the three shops in the building’s ground storey.
As a precautionary measure, vehicular traffic from Udupi to Manipal has been stopped and an alternative route was made available.
Assistant Commissioner, tehsildar, Zilla panchayat president visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
