Hunasur: Police arrest absconding marijuana crop grower

Hunasur: A marijuana crop grower who was absconding from three days was arrested by police on September 22.

The arrested has been identified as Amavase, a resident of Neeralakuppe near Nagarhole National Park.

A team led by Circle Inspector KC Puvayya raided Amavase’s farm on September 20 after receiving a tip-off.

At the farm, the team seized 80 marijuana plants weighing about 17 kilograms. Amavase had escaped.

“After receiving another information that Amavase had returned to his house we arrested him,” said DySP Sundaraj.

The entire operation was conducted by constables Beeregauda, Ganesh, Shivraj Kumar, Likhith, Mehraj, Manjunatha, Raghu, Ramesh and ASI Doddegowda.
