Famous ‘Vikram-Betal’ illustrator KC Shivshankar no more

Chennai: Veteran artist and illustrator KC Shivshankar, known for his illustration of many mythological and ethical narrative picture books died on September 29 at his residence here.
Shivashankar was 97 years old.
During his 50 years of painting career, Shivashankar had also created several cartoons strips.
However, he was most famously known for the ‘Vikram and Vetal’ series published in the popular children’s magazine ‘Chandamama’ also called ‘Ambulimama’ in the 1960s.
His graphic style for the pictures in the magazine made him a renowned through the country for several decades.
