BJP, JDU reach 50:50 seat-sharing agreement for Bihar polls: Sources

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janta Dal United (JDU) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Patna have reached a seat-sharing agreement, with almost even split for the upcoming Assembly elections.
As per the seat-sharing agreement, the JDU will contest 122 of a total 243 seats while BJP will contest in 121, sources stated. An announcement in this regard is expected soon.
Elections in Bihar will be held in three phases amid the coronavirus pandemic. Voting will be held on October 28, November 3 and 7 and the results will be announced on November 10.
The last date for filing nominations is October 8. Seventy-one of the total 243 constituencies will see voting in the first phase on October 28.
