Puttur: Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers DV Sadananada Gowda stated that he will discuss with the kabbadi association officials the issue of kabbadi player Pratap being dropped from the list of trainees to be invited for training at Delhi.
Sullia’s Sachin Pratap is presently the only kabbadi player from Karnataka to be in the roster of 27 senior players selected from all the States in the Indian Kabaddi team.
Pratap’s name was not on the list released by the national kabaddi association in Delhi to attend the training. The association had replied to queries about Pratap by stating that currently the Pratap’s selection has been temporarily blocked.
Pratap, Zilla panchayat member SN Manmatha and others had met Gowda at a gust house at Putur recently and had brought the issue to his notice. Gowda assured that he will contact the Chief Executive Officer of the kabaddi association in Delhi and will take appropriate action on it.
Already Minister CT Ravi and MLA Harish Poonja have expressed support for Pratap and promised justice to the athlete.
