New Delhi: Two BJP leaders have joined Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) ahead of the Bihar assembly elections after being denied party ticket.
Bihar BJP vice-president Rajendra Singh and Usha Vidyarthi, a former party MLA from Paliganj have resigned from the BJP following a meeting with Chirag Paswan. LJP has announced Singh and Vidyarthi as party candidates from Dinara and Paliganj respectively.
Meanwhile, it is gathered that more such rebel BJP MLAs might join the LJP to contest elections from Chirag’s party.
Earlier today BJP leadership said that rebels would be expelled from the party if they do not fall in line.
On Tuesday, while announcing the seat-sharing formula, the BJP has backed Nitish Kumar’s leadership to the hilt and rebuffed LJP chief Chirag Paswan.
Reports also indicate that BJP is contesting all 243 seats by getting its leaders to contest the elections through the LJP.
