Covid-19 guidelines violations: Belagavi police collect over Rs. 60k in a day

Belagavi: The city police penalized 365 people in the city on Wednesday, October 7 as part of its crackdown on violators not adhering to Covid-19 guidelines specifying the mandatory use of masks in public places,

According to the police, a total of Rs. 60,300 was collected on the first day since they announced that people not wearing masks will be penalized.

While the drive was conducted in the jurisdiction of police stations in urban and rural areas of the district, the penalty amount was fixed at Rs. 200 and Rs. 100 in urban and rural areas respectively.
