Kolkata: Attacking the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal, newly-appointed BJP youth wing chief Tejasvi Surya on Thursday said that the tyrant’s time is coming to an end.

The BJP march in the state capital Kolkata on Thursday witnessed dramatic scenes as police dressed in riot gear tried to disperse the crowd with tear gas and water cannons as stones were thrown from the other side.

Taking to Twitter, Surya who participated in the protest said, “Country bombs hurled at our rally by TMC goons from rooftops. Tear gas and water canons launched against a peaceful march. The tyrant’s time is coming to an end. #NabannoCholo.”

The secretariat, where Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s office is also located, is shut for two days, starting today, today for sanitization — which the BJP said is a reflection of her fear”.

“Mamata didi has got afraid. I have learnt that she has closed the CMO. This is the sign of a real ‘paribartan’ (change) in Bengal and this is being led by the patriotic youth of the state and the rest of the country is with them,” Surya had said at a press conference held earlier in the day.
