Gangavati: 2 leopards, 3 bears spotted near Chikarampura; villagers in fear

Gangavati: Since the past one week leopards and bears have been spotted near the hills of Anegondi, Anjanadri and Kishkinda. On Sunday, October 11, 2 leopards and 3 bears were spotted in the spotted near Chikarampura village near Anjanadri hill.
People in surrounding villages are frightened by the appearance of these animals.
A nine-year-old boy from Hyderabad, who along with his parents was on a visit to the Walikilla Megot Adishakti Temple last week and a women who had taken her cow for grazing at Jangli Rangpur was attacked by leopards.
After the incident, the DFO Harshabhanu and taluk’s forest officers visited the Sanpura Hanumanahalli and Jangli Rangapura hill areas on Sunday morning for an inspection. The DFO instructed the officials to set up traps in the area where leopards and bears were spotted.
