224 marijuana plants weighing 154 kgs seized from Chamrajnagar’s Ramapura

Hanuru: Ramapura police officials seized 228 marijuana plants weighing 154 kilograms grown in an empty house and farm.

The police had received a tip-off that three people Govindaraju, Chinnavenkatabhoomi and Kumara had illegally grown marijuana plants in Hosalli village in the taluk. Based on it, a team led by DySP G Nagaraju of Kolegal Sub Division raided the spot. The three accused escaped right before the raid.

The trio had taken extreme precaution to hide their marijuana cultivation. A compound wall about 8 feet high with no entrance was built on a 13×40 meter vacant plot next to a house. About 150 marijuana plants were grown in the plot. In addition, 78 marijuana plants were grown on the farm next to the house.

District Superintendent of Police Divya Sara Thomas announced a cash prize for the DySP G Nagaraju and Ramapura Circle Inspector Manoj Kumar and other in the raiding.

Ramapura Circle Inspector Manoj Kumar, Sub Inspector Manjunath Prasad and other police officials Namunda, Nagendra, Madesh, Raghu, Anndurya, Musharraf, Shivamurthy, Mangal Nagendra, Nagashetti, Raghu, Anand, Mahadevaswamy, Raviprasad, Bommegowda, Rangaswamy, Suresh, Panchayat Development Officer Mahadevu, Village Accountant Shivakumar, Forest Guard Mallikarjun and others participated in the raid.
