Chitradurga: Four hunters with sophisticated guns arrested

Chitradurga: The Forest Department officials have arrested four animal hunters and handed them to judicial custody.
The arrested have been identified as Shivamogga and Bengaluru-based Ikshudhwa, Vasudeva Shetty, Pratap Ratnaswamy and Vinod.
The forest officers received information that hunters have arrived at the forest near Gounahalli village in Hiriyur taluk. After surveying the area twice the officers arrested the four.
Four sophisticated rifles, one pistol, a bow and arrow, high flashlights, several other hunting equipments, a Mahindra Scorpio and another Mahindra vehicle were seized from the hunters.
Wildlife conservationist HG Raghuram, Hiriyur Zonal Forest Officer Sri Harsha and Deputy Zonal Forest Officer Pradeep Kesari and other staff members participated in the operation.
