Ghaziabad: The Sub Divisional Officer here, IAS Soumya Pandey, has returned to her office only three weeks after delivering her baby.

Pandey cut short her maternity leave and has brought her newborn to her office.

The video of her signing official papers holding her baby has become viral on social media and been appreciated by many for her fidelity to her duty.

Her action has also received criticism.

One comment to her video stated: “A 3-week-old baby needs more care. Presently, the risk to the health of the newborn is high due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so it it is not right to bring the child to the office. Why not use maternity leave granted by the government? Or work from home?”
