Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has won a national award for the ‘CSR For Social Development’ segment for its “Sthree toilet.”
Scrapped buses with the KSRTC were converted as mobile toilets for women. The first of these buses was inaugurated on August 27 and deployed at Majestic.
The project was funded by Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
The award was given to Shivayaogi Kalasad in an online ceremony held at Mumbai.
The mobile toilets were completely solar-operated and also featured baby feeding and diaper changing areas.
