World Food Day 2020: All you need to know

World Food Day celebrated every year around the world on 16 October in honour of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 1945. FAO is a specialized agency of the UN that leads international efforts to defeat hunger.
Initially, World Food Day was launched to commemorate the establishment of FAO. Gradually, the day turned into a global event, creating awareness about food shortage and reviving food systems across the globe.
World Food Day is celebrated every year with different themes to focus on areas that require action and offer a common objective. This year the World Food Day 2020 theme is “Grow, nourish, sustain. Together. Our actions are our future”.
Several different events take place on World Food Day. However, this year due to the ongoing pandemic celebration will be virtual
