Punjalkatte: Cattle smuggling network busted, 1 detained, 16 animals rescued

Punjalkatte: Police here found a network of illegal cattle smugglers and seized the animals and the vehicles used for transporting them on Saturday, October 17.

The police carried out a raid, led by Sub Inspector Souma J, after a tip-off about animals being illegally moved in vehicles through NC Road in Kavalamudur village.

In the raid, police rescued 16 cattle and seized a Mahindra Bolero, a Maruti Omni, a two-wheeler. One of the smugglers was caught by the police while the others escaped.

The Punjalakutte police personnel have started an investigation for other members of the smuggling network.
