Mangaluru: My quarries are legal and I have all the required permission for operating them, said Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik in reaction to allegations by Former Minister B Ramanath Rai that Naik’s red stone quarries are illegal.

Speaking at a news conference here, he added that he does not have any relatives at Mudipu and has been running his quarries as per law.

“For me, politics is not important, I can make my living through farming. Anybody can get all documents related to my quarries through the Department of Mines. I insist that a high-level investigation be conducted over these allegations as there are many such illegal activities happening across Dakshina Kannada district,” he said.
