Kasaragod: Perhaps for the first time in the history of Sri Ananthapadmanabha Swamy Temple located in Kumble here, Babiya, the vegetarian crocodile residing in the temple lake, stepped out and entered the sanctum sanctorum of the temple on Tuesday evening.
Reportedly, Babiya has been residing in the temple lake for more than 70 years now and is believed to be a messenger of Lord Padmanabhan himself.
As per temple priests, Babiya has never attacked any human and even the priests here are not scared to take a holy dip in the lake despite her presence in the waters.
Notably, she eats only the temple prasadam which is served to her two times a day.
