Udupi: A small part of the breakwater extending into the sea near the fishing port at Malpe near here has crumbled threatening the light post built on it.
A few of the boulders placed to retain the barrier were seen displaced from their original spot on the more than 500 metres long and almost forty years old breakwater.
An official at the Department of Fisheries stated that the Executive Engineer at the Department has been notified about it. Adding that officials will inspect the place and conduct the necessary corrective operations.
