12-yr-old bitten by mother, stabbed with pencil for failing to answer during online class

Mumbai: Santcruz police allegedly booked a woman for allegedly stabbing her 12-year-old girl with pencil, biting her multiple times in a fity of fury.
As per a media report, the class 6 student failed to answer a question posed by her teacher during the online class. Enraged by this the woman stabbed her on her back with the pencil and also bit her multiple times.
A call was placed to the child helpline number — 1098 by the victim’s younger sister. Following this, two representatives from the NGO reached the girl’s house and tried to reason with her mother. However, the mother remained adamant and a case was then registered against her.
The woman has not been arrested yet.
