Chikmaglur: A law prohibiting religious conversion should be implemented and we will bring it, said Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar.
Speaking at Chikmaglur, he said that we do not need any advice from former minister UT Khader on such law. Discussions are on at all levels to introduce a law regarding it. We will implement it in the next session of the assembly.
Former minister UT Khadar had said on Friday, November 7 that now they (BJP) are the governing party let them introduce an anti-conversion law.
Speaking about the hike in electricity tariffs, Sudhakar said the government is not an inexhaustible vessel. The government also has financial constraints. People should cooperate with the hike in electricity tariffs.
“There are enough challenges for the government along with the financial woes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of crores of revenue have been lost in a single year. The government from the past 8 months has handled the COVID-19 crisis and has taken care of 6 crore people. Government employees pay were not cut. Due to less economic activity revenue generation and collection has been severely affected. The government has not happily increased the electricity tariffs, it was inevitable, hence I too supported it,” the minister said.
