Mangaluru: Industrialist and philanthropist Hassan Haji no more

Mangaluru: Puttur-based industrialist and social worker Hassan Haji died here on Sunday, November 15.
Haji was suffering from age-related ailments. He is survived by his wife, four daughters and a son.
Haji, a resident of Koornadka in Puttur, was the owner of an areca nut trading company called Unity.
He was the president of Puttur Seerat Committee, vice president of Ansaruddin Jamaat Committee and former member of Dakshina Kannada District Wakf Advisory Committee.
Through these organisations and privately he conducted many social welfare activities for the economically weaker sections of society such as funding wedding of poor girls and education of high-scoring students.
