Decision for organizing Kambala to be based on Centre’s guidelines

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada District Kambala Committee president PR Shetty said that the decision to organize Kambala will be based on the Central government’s guidelines.

He was speaking at a meeting organised between the Committee and Kambala organisers here on Sunday, November 15.

“All of us here want to carry forward this folk sport which imbibes religious belief and agrarian culture of Tulunadu. Already we have met district in-charge minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and submitted a petition to both of them. They responded positively and promised a decision after reviewing the next guidelines,” Shetty added.

“As soon as the new guidelines are issued, the Committee will decide on organising the Kambalas. The district administration will fully support us. The Committee will convene a meeting again in December to discuss other issues, including preparations for Kambala if permission is granted to organise them in January. All are requested to kindly cooperate with us,” Shetty said.

Vice president of the Committee Thiruvailuguttu Naveen Alva, General Secretary of the Committee Rajeev Shetty Edturu, Treasurer Suresh Poojary, Former Secretary Vijay Kumar Kanginamane, Kambala organisers Ermalu Rohit Hegde, Brajesh Chouta, Vishal K Poojary Boluru, Chandrahas Shetty, Rakshith, Ramachandra Naik Mulki and Kambala bull owners Muccharu Kalludka Lokesh Shetty, Mankalipadpu Sitaram Shetty were present in the meeting.
