Mangaluru: Congress leader and former MLC Ivan D’Souza, in a news conference here on November 18, demanded Christian Development Corporation for the community.

He asserted that the community deserved a Corporation as they have made immense contribution in the fields of education and health.

He further claimed that Christians outnumber many other communities such as Veerashiavas and Marathas in the State however they still do not have a development corporation for them.

He accused the State government of scrapping the formation of the corporation that was in the process of establishment by the previous Congress-JD(S) government. Adding that the government must explain to the community why was the decision taken to not set up the corporation?

He also threatened that the community will take to the streets if the corporation is not established soon.
