Raichur: Boy attacked by crocodile while drinking water from river; severed head found

Raichur: In a tragic incident, a 12-year-old boy who had gone to quench his thirst near Krishna river bank here died after being attacked by a crocodile on Wednesday, December 2 evening.

The boy has been identified as Mallikarjuna (12), a resident of the village.

Mallikarjuna along with his friends had taken their cows for grazing. As they were thirsty they went near the river bank to drink water. At this time, a crocodile attacked Mallikarjuna. The other boys immediately rushed back to the village and informed the villagers.

The police, fire department and forest department personnel carried out a search operation and at 2 am in the night found the severed head of Mallikarjuna.
