Shivamogga: After attack on Bajrang Dal worker, situation remains tense; curfew imposed

Shivamogga: After a deadly attack on a local Bajrang Dal worker, supporters of the man have damaged the glasses of many vehicles creating a tense situation across the town.
The parked vehicles were attacked at the town’s Gandhi Bazaar, Ravi Verma Street and Kasturba Road.
Eleven people have also been hospitalized in post-attack violence.
To contain the spread of the violence, Shivamogga Tehsildar Nagaraj has declared curfew within Shimoga Municipal Corporation limits.
The curfew will be till 10 am on Saturday, December 5. During this period no more than five people can congregate at a place.
West Zone IGP S Ravi visited the site of the incident and received information from the Shivamogga SP.
Speaking to reporters later, IGP S Ravi said violent incidents have been reported from four-five parts of the town. As it is a Hindu-Muslim issue he requested the general public not to fall for provocations and engage in violent acts.
