Covid-19: Over 4.7 lakh health workers register for vaccine

Bengaluru: As the government of Karnataka draws an extensive distribution plan of the Covid-19 vaccine, over 4.7 lakh health workers have already registered for vaccination in state.
Reportedly, 2,31,862 government and 2,46,133 private health workers have registered for vaccination. However, many more are yet to register and the final list will be updated shortly.
Meanwhile, a circular issued by Deputy Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, V Sushila stated that the Covid-19 war rooms can also be used as vaccination control rooms.
It may be recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a task force that will be responsible for the distribution of the Covid-19 vaccines to 30 crore Indians who fall in the priority group. Of them, one crore medical and frontline workers will be vaccinated first. The Ministry of Defence, Home Ministry and the Health Ministry are part of this task force.
