Educationist and fmr convenor of Consumers’ Forum Damodar Aital passes away

Udupi: K Damodar Aital, 85, an educationist and former convener of the Consumers’ Forum, died on the morning of Tuesday, December 8 at his daughter’s house at Kadiyali here due to age-related ailments.

Aital, a resident of Udupi’s Kadiyali, was known for his scholarship of the Kannada language. He worked in the office of the Deputy Director of Public Instruction and was also the Executive Director of Udupi Teachers’ Co-operative Bank.

After retirement, he worked as a Kannada news reporter and served as the president of the Udupi Patrakarara Sangha.

Aital is survived by his four daughters.
