Recently, a private news channel reported that the application for emergency use of the vaccine by Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech has been rejected by the DCGI.
“Both proposals are not approved due to inadequate safety and efficacy data available currently. Both have been asked for more data,” NDTV quoted sources as saying.
However, The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) denied the claims made by NDTV as it dubbed the reports of Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech’s proposals getting rejected as false.
PIB tweeted saying, “Claim: NDTV has reported that the emergency use of the vaccine by Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech has been rejected. #PIBFactCheck: This claim is #Fake.”
