K’taka State transport employees’ strike to continue on Dec 12

Bengaluru: Employees of the State transport corporations will continue their strike on December 12.
This decision was taken in a transport workers’ union meeting by Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha president Kodihalli Chandrashekhar.
Speaking on the issue, State’s Transport Minister Laxman Savadi said that salaries were given to the transport workers even during the COVID-19-induced economic crisis in order to avert financial difficulties for them. They should come to talks with us instead of protesting and striking. Previous negotiations failed as the employees did not back down from their decision.
Chandrashekhar said that unless the demands of the workers are fulfilled the strike will continue.
The main demand of the transport employees is to declare them as government employees among others.
