K’taka transport workers’ strike ends after govt accepts 8 demands

Bengaluru: The strike by the workers of the State’s Road Transport Corporations from the past three days has ended after the government accepted to their eight demands.
The accepted demands are:
– Aarogya Sanjeevani insurance scheme for all employees of the corporations
– Rs 30 lakh compensation to the families of workers who died of COVID-19
– Appropriate policy on inter-corporation transfers
– Reduction in the training period of new employees from 2 years to 1 year
– Implementation of HRMS (Human Resource Management System) in the corporations
– Appropriate allowances to workers when on duty
– Appropriate grievances redressal mechanism for employees
– Salaries as per the recommendations of the 6th Pay Commission
Leaders of the transport corporations workers have said that the strike will be immediately terminated and workers will return to work from today.
