Udupi: Blue Flag-certified Padubidri beach to open from Dec 17

Udupi: The district administration here will be reopening the Blue Flag-certified Padubidri beach to the public from December 17
District’s Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha said that as all pending works along the beach are now completed and tourists will be allowed to visit the beach from Thursday.
Padubidri beach received the Blue Flag certification on October 11 from the Foundation for Environmental Education, Denmark becoming one of the eight beaches in India to receive the recognition.
The official ‘Blue Flag Hoisting Ceremony’ will be conducted in the presence of the Minister of Tourism and the secretary of the department after confirming dates from them, the DC said.
