Auto driver arrested for raping student in B’luru

Bengaluru: An autorickshaw driver was arrested by the Sampigehalli police for allegedly raping a college student on the pretext of dropping her home.

The arrested is identified as Mubharak (28).

A police officer said the 19-year-old survivor, a resident of Magadi Road, is a Computer Science student. She also works part-time at an event management company after hosting she was waiting near the bus stop to get home. Meanwhile, Mubharak approached her and offered to drop her home.

Later, he drove the auto to an isolated place where he allegedly sexually assaulted her and threatened her into keeping her shut.

However, the victim had noted the vehicle number and filed a case against the auto driver based on this information the police nabbed the accused.
