Schools that are a part of the Recognized Unaided Private Schools’ Association (RUPSA) has decided to call off all online and offline classes from December 21.

RUPSA announced this decision in a news conference held on December 19.

The decision to close all offline and online classes is against the recent decision by the State government to reopen schools for classes 10 and Second Year PUC students from January 1.

Lokesh Tahlikatti, president of RUPSA said that the representatives of schools from various parts of the State had participated in the meeting where they discussed in detail the issues they were facing and also decided to stop their entire academic year until the government meets their demands.

Tahlikatti informed that they had submitted a report to the chief minister who hasn’t honoured any of their demands and that the admission of students was in chaos.

He further accused the Education Department of ‘acting over smart’ and the education minister of committing errors.

“We have put 15 demands in the report submitted to the government, failing to fulfil the demands, we shall hold a hunger strike from January 1,” Tahlikatti said.
