Vijayapura: Tipper collides with bus carrying poll officials; 25 injured, 1 serious

Vijayapura: A tipper truck collided with a bus carrying election officials returning after the end of poll duty, causing injury to 25 of them and seriously injuring one in Muddebihala taluk of the district.

The bus was carrying the election officials from Geddelamari in the taluk to Muddebihala town when the collision occurred.

The injured were immediately taken to Muddebiha’s government hospital, while the one in serious condition is being taken to the Vijayapur district hospital for further treatment.

The sealed ballot boxes in the bus were safely brought to the de-mustering centre with police security.
