Mangaluru: Garbage collectors to go on strike on Jan 3

Mangaluru: Workers of the company Antony Waste Handling Cell Private Limited which is contracted to collect garbage in the city have decided to strike on Sunday, January 3 after non-payment of salary and other unmet demands.
The workers stated that the company had agreed on December 17 to fulfil their twelve demands that included earned leaves, ESIC, pensions, payment of bonuses and pending salaries.
However, the company did not fulfil any of the demands except one, they said. Hence, they have decided to not attend work on Sunday.
