M’luru: ACB raids Tehsildar office, catches official accepting bribe red-handed

Mangaluru: Officers of the Anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Tuesday raided the Mangaluru Tehsildars office here.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by Oswald Veigas, 72, the ACB sleuths laid a trap for the officer, identified as Rafeeq Ahmed and caught him red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000.
Ahmed has been arrested and the bribe amount recovered from him.
The accused had reportedly demanded Rs 50,000 to pass an order in the Tahsildar court.
