Kerala government approves Sabarimala railway project

Kasargod: The Kerala government has agreed to share 50 per cent of the cost for a new railway line from Angamaly to Erumeli.
The total cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 2,815, half of which will now be provided by the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board. The remaining half of the cost will be borne by the Central government.
This new railway line will facilitate pilgrims travelling to Sabarimala and rail travel in Idukki, Kottayam and Pathanamthitta districts of the State.
